![]() ![]() When the story starts out she’s rather isolated, her family rejects or ignores her and she only has one friend. Despite this she doesn’t complain and seems to take everything in stride. She has no place, or identity almost except in her usefulness to her overbearing younger sister. The main character Anne Elliott is 27 and on the verge of being forgotten from society. ![]() Whereas Pride and Prejudice is vivacious and energetic, Persuasion is much softer and cool. Leaves changing color, a sort of brisk coldness and that melancholy feeling you get on cold raining days. But moreover that sort of bittersweet feeling of leaving the summer behind and heading towards winter. I read several reviews on Goodreads that described this book as “autumnal.” Now what the heck does autumnal mean?
